3rd May 2016
On May 17th of last year we had a walk and guided tour to Hankelow Hall by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs Shenton. About 65 people attended and we had a lovely afternoon. lt was interesting to see the progress that Kirk and his family have made.
After raising some funds providing refreshments at Audlem Carnival we were ready to make final arrangements for the Summer Fete on June 21st. The afternoon was a great success and we were able to give £1500 to Hankelow Methodist Church towards the refurbishment of the Community Hall. We were also able to give donations to the Audlem Scouts, The Cheshire Academy Gymnasts, Audlem Fire Brigade, Wybunbury School and Hope House.
We provided early morning refreshments on the village green for the Transport Festival on July 26th.
We have produced a Hankelow Calendar again this year and this was ready to purchase at the Autumn Supper in October held at Brookfield Golf Club. 76 people attended and we had a lovely evening.
Carols on the Green was well attended and we sent a donation of £150 to Crewe Christian Concern.
Once into the New Year our plans began for our Summer Fete which will be held on Sunday June 19th.
The charities we are supporting this year are Bloodwise South Cheshire and St Luke's Hospice.
The main events will be the Crewe Concert Band, Vale Royal Falconry, Musicland, Scottish Dancers, Tug of War and Sports for all ages. There will be the usual stalls and refreshments.
We always welcome more helpers and new ideas. We meet once a month, the date is always on the website.
Our aim is for the village to continue with that wonderful feeling of community spirit and we ask for your continued support.
