16th May 2014
This time last year we were busy making arrangements for the Summer Fete on June 24th. The event was a great success

We have also been able to purchase some more outdoor tables, a new marquee and a barbecue to use at our events this year.
We provided refreshments at the Festival of Transport on July 28th. The event went really well.
We had a photograph competition and decided to produce a calendar for 2014. After paying printing costs it was agreed that any profit made would help towards our next gardens trip.
The Autumn Supper was held at the White Lion on October 22nd. The evening was a great success with 73 people attending. Our photograph competition winners were announced and the calendar was well received.
About 60 people joined us for Carol singing on the village green. A collection was made and we were able to give a donation of £150 to the Donna Louise Hospice Trust.
ln February of this year we held a Photography and Social Evening. Matthew Jones gave an interesting presentation on the history of photography and simple photographic techniques, and answered questions from the audience. Afterwards everyone enjoyed the lovely refreshments,
This year's fete will be held on Sunday June 22nd. The main events are the Crewe Concert Band, The Nantwich Freerunners, Musicland, Scottish Dancers, Sports for all Ages, and Tug of War. There will also be the usual stalls and refreshments. This year we will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
To help fund the fete we will be providing refreshments in the Public Hall at this year's Audlem Carnival on Monday May 26th. We will also be taking the Football Game.
On Sunday May 11th, 30 people joined us for a visit to the Dorothy Clive Garden. We were really lucky with the weather and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.
We are not a large group and I believe we do really well to organise the events that we do. We would always welcome more helpers and new ideas, so why not come along to one of our informal meetings. We meet once a month, the date is always on the Hankelow website, and we try to organise events right through the year.
It is always our aim to bring people of all ages together with the feeling of community spirit and we ask for your continued support.
